Re: Creating a non-LR service record

I couldn’t even get my dealer to record an interim oil change on the OSH. In the end I settled for a full print out of the work done so at least when I sell the car I can prove with paperwork and the OSH what it’s had done. I’d recommend you get that paperwork, i’d Have thought most buyers will acce...

Re: Towbar - OEM or third party?

I have the tow trust one albeit with a spare wheel so I fed up with a bit of a bumper cut. The tow bar itself and electrics all work perfectly and took the fitter about an hour to fit. Nothing wrong with the towbar, just half the price because it doesn’t have LR stamped on it.

Re: Drove my wife’s car today....

We had a Seat Ibiza Cupra, it had one new engine and that the second one was on the way out with the same fault as they didn’t bother putting the revised version in when the first one blew.... That was oil related too. Loads of stuff in the DS that you can point at that other cars may not have, AEB...

Drove my wife’s car today....

My kids school bus ended up in a ditch this morning (unfortunately quite a common occurrence) so I gave my wife the keys to the DS to pick them up in the snow/ice. That left me with her Leon Fr to drive to work. 1.4 tsi petrol 150ps version. Cruised to the office at pretty much exactly the same spee...

Re: Thinking of buying...

To be honest you’ll get a four figure bill just from having to replace the tyres 😂. I know why you’re worried, it is an expensive car to fix and definitely has more than it’s fair share of problems I think. Some of the stuff like rattles though I probably would have fixed myself or lived with if out...

My local main dealer in Devon has just charged me £540 for my DS oil service which was required at 14000miles, dread to think what a full service will be £540?!! OMG. I’m in Devon, Matford in Exeter have done two oil changes on mine so far, first at 10k foc, second at 21k along with first service. ...

Re: Towbar

Yes 7 seat with underslung spare wheel. I don't have any photos with the trim, and it is foul outside! But I bought it on Ebay. Had to come from China but IO could not find small quantities anywhere else. The trim I used was https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0-5mm-13mm-Rubber-U-Channel-Edging-Trim-Seal-Ed...

Re: Towbar

Some more photos of a fitted Towtrust for you. I had to change the 13 pin socket on mine so I could connect the spare pin for a reverse camera signal cable. Camera installed on van and the signal comes through for a small screen in the cubby hole by the gear selector. No connections for that to the...
