Strange Rover - Oil Dilution

I agree with the basis of the calculation and make that about 1.108 million gallons. However, in reality, the number of Evo and DS diesel cars is higher than half a million, then there's E-pace on top. Plus it ignores all of the TDV6 Range Rovers and Discoveries. So the true volume of wasted oil is...

Re: Premium fuel use

Sorry I am going to keep throwing questions at the forum until I pick up my DS. Does the use of premium fuel such as Shell V Power or BP Ultimate do anything to improve the DPF or regeneration problems or is that just wishful thinking? No, but there are some promising benefits that might be gained ...

Re: Service interval

Interestingly, after a run of just over 100 miles, the next oil service due only fell by 50 miles. The distance to Adblue fill actually increased. Full service is due in June this year. Are these mileages actually set by the dealer? My mpg seems to have dropped noticeably. With full service due in ...

Re: Newbie with Landmark on order

Trouble is the D5 isn’t immune either, great that you got rid of the oil dilution and are happy with yours but a friend of mine got the bullet on the first shot with their D5, rejected it with oil dilution and 16 other faults and ran into the same bullet of oil dilution again with a FFRR, both were...

Re: Newbie with Landmark on order

Every time someone makes a post in the forum to the effect that the AJ200D Discovery Sport is "no different" to other EU6 diesel cars in respect of post injection, active regeneration, diesel dilution or frequency of oil services, one or more of the following applies: 1. They are deliberately defend...

Re: NEW Close-Coupled DPF?

I didn’t expect anything else from their reply but I felt better doing it. Someone just remind me why I’ve placed this order with so much negativity about them?! 🙄 Gaz, you should decide quickly if this decision is going to come from the heart or the head. Mouth-watering looks, rugged, practical of...

Re: NEW Close-Coupled DPF?

So I emailed Land Rover customer services today about the DPF and whether there has been any improvements made to the MY19 model. As expected, I got a vague reply along the lines of they are always looking to improve their vehicles each MY but nothing specific to the DPF. They said I should experie...

Re: Just about to buy...

I think the whole diesel and dpf problems are far more prominent with owners using the car for short trips. Sorry, but your thinking is wrong in the case of the DS. Many people, myself included, found that long drives at steady, legal speeds are one assured way of keeping the engine exhaust at just...

Re: Thinking of buying...

I have a March 2017 HSE Black pack in Silicon Silver its a great car apart from the fuel dilution issues, then thats what you get with diesel engines, even more so when diesel is also used in regen cycle. Not many manufacturers have this fancy sensor that picked this oil dilution issue up. I am cer...
