...I might ask them to do this on mine (Bought March 18) the next time it is in for a service, but to be honest as they won’t change unless it fails what’s the point? If they do turn out to be steel then it might give you a bit of peace of mind - either way at least you would know where you stand :...

...I cannot understand why JLR are not recalling the affected vehicles and replacing the suspect bolts, rather than waiting for failure and then paying the cost of a repair. Unfortunately there's a chance the bolts will shear when trying to remove - which would then mean the rack would need replaci...
