Re: New Evoque

Hi A team and welcome to the forum. Your presence here will be very much appreciated for the insight it can bring into issues like this and the B pillar temporary repair. I believe that this will actually be my 1,000th post - initially I was excited to be VERY!!! DS but became, regrettably, X NO X D...

Speth promises "Made In India" JLR products

Another slap in the face for the UK and the future of JLR's UK manufacturing? Apparently, at the recent "soft" opening of the NAIC in Warwick, Herr Speth said that JLR will harness Indian skills and expertise and "work towards" manufacturing advanced JLR vehicles in India - vehicles made "in" and "f...

Re: New Evoque

I was initially surprised by the announcement of a 1.5L engine (naturally I was comparing it to the Toyota which deploys a normally-aspirated 2.5 L). Trying to get a feel for the entry level, then. In order to match the performance of the current 240HP petrol Ingenium the ICE will need to produce ab...

Is there any way you could get the AA out, either through roadside assist or other membership? I know for a fact that AA patrols have the requisite Bosch software on their Panasonic Toughpads.

Re: Halogen lights replacement advice

The tinted H15 bulbs shift the colour away from yellow because they filter out some proportion of the green and red wavelength light produced by standard halogens - it's exactly what Osram does with the Cool Ice White version of the 64176. They state clearly in the bulb's technical documentation tha...

Re: New Evoque

Looking ahead to the implications of this vehicle on the next DS it was disappointing to see no full hybrid version of the Evo being announced, either HEV or PHEV. Mild hybrid is really little more than "advanced stop-start with a small auxiliary battery pack" and, whilst it does provide a measurabl...

Re: Hi folks..

Mea culpa - didn't read back up to the OP.

Welcome indeed, it's always good to have new blood. Danny John Jules is a mate of a mate and says could you please find a better picture of him as The Cat, rather than that rather unflattering one of Dwayne Dibley.

Re: Hi folks..

I thanked her for her advice and ended the call horrified at the suggestion I should be dishonest . During another holding call last week, I was advised that the problems were likely caused by the fact that I didn't have a factory fit tow bar. I was livid. I wanted a factory fit tow bar, and the Sa...

Re: Halogen lights replacement advice

I went down this road and found a dead end. Osram Nightbreaker was said by many to be the way to go but this bulb is still not available with the H15 base. The most powerful (lumens-wise) bulb is the Osram 64176 but that's already the OEM's choice - at least it was on my SE Tech. That leaves Osram C...
