Re: Rusty brake discs & Calipers

They look good to me too! Hard to see from the photo's but sometimes people confuse the micro porosity in the castings to be corrosion.

Re: Heater/Air Con Fan not working.

Just had the same problem with my DS as it has been standing for 2 weeks whilst been abroad. Amazing what you can do with a bamboo cane and this forum!
Thanks for the instructions on getting the fan turning again!

I've posted a few times on this thread (go back to about P. 40). Long story short - JLR / dealer...

Re: Rusty brake discs & Calipers

I would agree with Dashnine, I can't see how the discs would cause the calipers to become corroded. The calipers are pre-treated and then zinc plated to conform to salt-spray testing specifications. The washing of the wheel area is a relevant question as some of the 'hand car wash' outfits use very ...

Re: Slight Electrical burning smell

Probably not the answer to your question, but I had a burning smell on Monday. Mine is the halogen bulb coming out of the rubbish headlight fixing that decided to melt the plastic body ! It was so dark during the day the auto headlights came on ! Crap plastics on these cars compared to my FL2. Chee...

Slight Electrical burning smell

I did a search on the forum and can't find anything relative to my issue. Had my car serviced last week and since then, intermittently I am getting a slight electrical smell inside the car. I have opened the bonnet and cant detect anything in the engine bay area. Everything seems to be operating nor...

Re: Rusty brake discs & Calipers

Just had my 21K service and I complained about the corroded discs. I was told that would not be covered under the warranty however, if I reported that there was a juddering coming from the rear brakes then there would be able to change them FOC! Waiting now for the dealer to give me a date for the w...

Re: New Si4 DS - Enjoying Petrol again

Any thoughts on fuel consumption by now Robbie? Hi My consumption after 2K Miles use is about 33mpg, and improving each week. Not sure how much further I can push it up. Motorway driving above 70mph hurts it obviously and more so than my diesel examples. I use a combination of supermarket UL and th...
