Re: 2nd hand 2016 Disco Sport

Ideally you need to see a full breakdown of all the work that’s been done to the vehicle since new 2016s suffered heavily from squeaking and rattling. The two main ones were (1), rear light cluster on the rear tailgate and (2), B pillar tick. The B pillar tick was apparently quite severe on some veh...

Re: INGENIUM 2.0 DIESEL OIL ANALYSIS RESULTS

That is good DiscoSportDave. My last check was 2.3% at 9k miles. In general I’ve had 2% - 2.5% on mileages between 7 and 12k. I don’t allow the oil to go beyond 12k. I generally do mixed journey lengths but tending towards longer ones. About one third of my miles include towing 1500kg (1.5 Tonnes). ...

Re: Maintenance charging battery

Does anyone know if it’s OK to use the reconditioning cycle on the Ctek charger on an AGM battery? I note that on Ctek’s the reconditioning uses the ‘normal cycle and not the AGM. Maybe one can initially use the AGM and when charged switch to recon. The AGM charges at a slightly higher voltage. View...

Re: battery monitoring system warning setpoint

Mamil is correct. However, my understanding is also that the percentage loss is based against the calibration of the software knowing 100% battery charge. If this calibration is lost, then the low battery warning is a common result. This happened to me in my first year of ownership. At that time the...

Re: Maintenance charging battery

I think the BMS is under the -ve distribution plate on the -ve battery terminal. The photos below show what I have done. The secondary earth (left hand of the three terminals) is the one BobbyBox (above) refers to. I think using this makes a neat job of it although I decided to utilise the spare thr...

I use these. You may need to ring them, the filters are not always on their web pages but are always available- don’t ask me why that is!!

Re: Maintenance charging battery

In these troubled times I’ll not be using the DS much, certainly won’t be towing our caravan. So, I’ve bought myself a CTek smart charger to help keep the battery in reasonably good condition. I’m going to wire in the connection plug so I won’t need to take the cover off each time it gets charged. I...
