Re: Change of brake fluid.

So why the BLOODY HELL don't the frickin Dealers know what the hell they are doing then? What does that tell you about the competence of them overall? My thoughts too! I've had many Land Rovers and tbh there are only two dealers I can confidently take my car to. And one of those is going down in my...

Re: Change of brake fluid.

I suspect there's a degree of dealer confusion here. It's starting to look like - Some dealers (or at least mine) do it under the service plan; Some dealers check the fluid and decide it's OK (as they used to do with FL2); Some dealers think that four years is too long to leave it and say it needs d...

Re: Change of brake fluid.

Interesting question regarding warranty. If it's a compulsory part of the service, then it should be covered by the service plan. If it's not, then it shouldn't affect warranty. My car is coming up to three years old, and has had one service and two interims. No-one has mentioned brake fluid, but if...

Re: Change of brake fluid.

On the FL2 the recommendation was every 3 years, but instead the dealers generally tested the fluid and said "it wasn't needed". Since the DS doesn't have a 3-year service, the recommendation presumably drops to two years. I imagine if the dealer tests it they will find there is no need for the chan...

Re: Topix spec of car

Click on "view all vehicle details"
Then click on "Minor features"
Strangely, this will give you details of your car, and has nothing to do with the famous Morris product.

Re: Topix spec of car

There's something to click on to get a more detailed spec. Can't remember what offhand but I think it's top right hand side of page. Hang on - I'll go in and have a look.

Re: Engine Transmission (Amber light) on dashboard

Can have many causes. Best to call LR assist to read the codes. Mine has the light on at the moment - it goes out overnight sometimes, then comes on again at random. Booked in to dealer for new EGR cooler and DPF filter. In my case, no problem to continue driving it (according to LR Assist technicia...

Re: Discovery Sport screen gone red?

I too suspect a cockup, but as I wrote, I'm not complaining. The car will need a service in January and I'll get them to confirm the warranty date then. As to buying an ex-demonstrator, I think it's "buyer beware" - can be good, can be bad. I've had two now from Marshalls. The first one was the sale...

Re: Clearing an old owner on incontrol app?

If we're making a list, very happy so far with Marshalls in Peterborough, although they do make you wait if you want a courtesy car. Always friendly and have never quibbled about warranty work. Sales people very pleasant to deal with and have seemed genuinely concerned to follow up the sale. JLC in ...

Re: Disappointing Customer service - yet again!

I think we can beat Paul's experience at Lexus, although it was in the US! Took the Chevy in for a service, no need to book. They had a production line system - it goes in one end of the line and when we come back in the afternoon it's done. Didn't get a courtesy car though.
