Re: New member

Two things regarding mpg - mine is better in the summer than in winter, and the mpg has gradually improved over 2½ years.

Re: Rusty brake discs & Calipers

They look like mine did before warranty replacement. My replacements are shiny as they should be.

Re: DPF Regeneration Switch coming...

Damn good idea, for the minority of owners who understand the (pretty basic) concept. Most owners though wouldn't use it. It would be great for those who do understand it: in accordance with the Law of Sod my DPF-type thingy* tends to start its regeneration just as I'm finishing a long run. it would...

Re: Considering a Discovery Sport

Not true for all of us Highlander! I've owned a lot of Land Rovers and this is my favourite. The FL2 (and for that matter FL1!) were a bit more reliable, but this is a more refined car, while still having great off-road ability. If I move away from LR it won't be because of the quality, it will be b...

Re: Considering a Discovery Sport

I too have had a positive experience. It's a lovely car to drive, if a bit short of oomph compared with the FL2 SD4 or a couple of big-engine petrol cars I've had in the past. Just got back from a trip to Germany where it cruised effortlessly at 90-100 mph, with over 40mpg too! There are some cons: ...

Re: Incorrect diesel exhaust fluid quality detected

Just been talking to a local tradesman about his wife's SEAT. Given their problems with having everything reset because of the emissions scandal, then not working, not knowing anything about Adblue until he got an error message, having to have the turbo replaced, I feel much better about the DS now....

Re: Running in?

Running in the tyres for a couple of hundred miles is part of the process. As above, avoid harsh braking, accel and cornering to allow them to bed in. Should improve tyre life. Remember to do it when buying a new set of tyres as well!

Re: Adblue quality warning

There is another current thread on this. My car has had the problem twice. There seem to be two causes - one is a software problem that requires an update, the other is a blockage in the injector, or in the unit that the injector fits into. Both bring up the "incorrect quality" message and also "no ...

Re: Incorrect diesel exhaust fluid quality detected

This injector was cleaned around 2000 miles ago. Is the SCRF hole where this injector slots into ? Your thoughts please tankerman Yes I think so. The LR Assist technician said tha sometimes it's the injector and sometimes he has to go into the unit with a Phillips screwsriver (!) and clean out the ...

Re: Low coolant

Don't rely too heavily on the temp gauge. If it's like the FL2 the centre mark covers the whole "normal" operating range, so it could be running hotter than normal, but not hot enough to move the gauge.
