Re: 2016 discovery sport egr faults

The usual problem (mine had it) is a faulty dpf causing a filter in the egr cooler to clog up. The solution was to replace the egr cooler AND the dpf, done for me under warranty. As you're out of warranty this may be less than helpful. Did they change the egr cooler when the valves were changed? (I'...

Re: DS PHEV.....not yet

Thanks, will have a look, though staying a mile away from the evoke. It’s tiny inside. Have you checked out the new Evoque? May still be too small for you but it feels much bigger inside. I would never have bought the old model but I'm fairly happy with the new one (well, happy enough to buy one!) ...

Re: Plate Numbers

Certain UK plates are reserved for personalised numbers. Currently numbers beginning with J or T (eg JA02XXX). In the past the same was true of J plates in the old numbering system (eg J123XXX) I do remember when my then boss tried to show off his brand new (and rather ugly) Lexus on a J plate. I ju...

Updated Satnav on Tuesday and the message went away. May or may not be connected. Messages on the Evoque blog say it's now sorted.

Re: low mileage ingenium?

Yes, definitely take it for a long run every few weeks. It's not just the oil changes - if the car can't do regular regens the dpf will clog up and if you aren't in a position to do an immediate long drive it will need dealer attention or even replacement. You have a warranty, but it's still a lot o...

Re: Map updater = malware

I haven't tried to download the latest, as I don't have an excuse to do the half-hour drive needed to install it on the car!

Re: DPF Fault !!!!!

I haven't done it but the LR Assist tech who did mine said it was a simple job. He just got under the car, removed the injector and cleaned up the hole. He said sometimes the blockage can be so severe he had to use a Phillips screwdriver to clean it out. He also said the problem seemed to be less co...
