Re: New disco se black

If you haven't had a black car before bear in mind that they look great when cleaned and polished but really show the dirt almost immediately. To keep a black car looking good here in the Fens at this time of year you'd have to wash it almost every time you used it.

Re: 2020 model

Yes there was a continuous improvement of the old model, but bear in mind that this is effectively an all-new car. The floorpan is completely new, and the body must have been revamped to fit that. OK the engine is the same, but we all (on this forum) know the likely problems by now, and would presum...

Re: Transport Mode

I've taken my DS on plenty of ferries, with no problem. You do need to remember only to single lock it (or not bother to lock it at all) otherwise the alarm will sound. Which is especially embarrassing on those small Scottish ferries where the cars are parked on the open deck!

Re: Warranty Date not in Line with Registration Date

Sorry, I was indeed confusing warranty and service plan, as mine had both. I still can't see why they "can't " book it in. If you are going to pay for the service you can have it done any time you like!

Re: Warranty Date not in Line with Registration Date

I don't understand why they could not book it in. The warranty gives you two free services, plus free goodwill oil changes if required, so they could do the warranty service any time - you still only get two. It does seem very likely that the car is due the software update and is not telling you it ...

And LR have closed down (again) for the "Brexit" that isn't happening today. Taking a week off I think.

Re: Daytime running lights

My MY16 SETech had both fronts and rears on. I checked today and my MY20 Evoque only has the fronts, which confirms what is written above. On the FL2 the dealer was able to configure the car to "Scandinavian mode" which switched the rears on. It may be possible to do that with MY20 - I'll ask next t...

Re: Why Do we (I) do it?

Andy, Know how you feel - just did exactly the same and bought a new model Evoque (worth a look - miles better car than the old one). Regarding the eyesight, I normally wear (and recommend) varifocals, but for driving I had a pair of bifocals made - most of the lens is for distance but with the smal...

Re: Considering a Discovery sport?

I have the new Evoque. I can hear the engine slightly more than in the DS, possibly because it seems to rev slightly higher, but it's not obtrusive. There is however a lot of tyre noise on certain surfaces, and I doubt the new DS is any different. Don't see how you can get round that with M+S tyres,...

Re: Dpf and egr issues

Perhaps worth bearing in mind that although repairs are expensive, the depreciation on this car has been quite severe, to the extent that the car may be undervalued at present. It may well be worth taking the risk of some relatively expensive repairs in order to buy what is a very nice car at the pr...
