Re: No V5 and need a number plate...

Almost exactly what happened to me - dealer got my address wrong. BE WARNED: when I realised it hadn't arrived I got a duplicate with the right address and thought no more about it, until a year later I started being chased by debt collectors. I discovered a court order against me for failing to pay...

Re: DS Finally turned the reliability corner?

Dashnine is correct. Only last week there was a post from a forum member who needs over £1000 worth of repair 3 months outside warranty. Remember you are also paying for a very good Europe-wide roadside breakdown and recovery service. As with all insurance, it's your choice whether or not to take it.

Re: New member

If you are likely to need a tow off road, you are advised to remove the front lower panel first to expose the towing eye (instructions are in the handbook). It's not easy to remove on tarmac, and very difficult indeed when sinking into the mud! You may not get many comments regarding your fuel consu...

Short term fix - put on the headlights and activate the rear fogs.

Re: SD card missing from satnav

I think dealers routinely remove the SD card for safe keeping. My car was ex-demo and the dealer fitted the card for me on handover. It may not even have been fitted during the dealer's ownership.

Re: DS Finally turned the reliability corner?

How did you go about cancelling? I expect to have a month of payments to go when I trade in, so might as well save the money.

Re: Uneven brake disc wear

Mine look like that after about 30k (following warranty replacement at 20k). The dealer is saying they will have to replace them before selling, and discounting the trade in price accordingly. I'm tempted to file them down to improve the look!

Re: Full size spare on 2019 DS HSE ?

Size of wheels doesn't matter as they all have the same circumference. A full-size spare wheel should fit inside the floor plan on a five-seater. In the UK the skinny spare up till now went on the underside of the car, with a revised exhaust system. Obviously we don't yet know the setup on the new m...

Re: PCP Ending

The negative equity thing is the one advantage of a PCP. I had one on one of the original Freelanders, and at the end of the term it wasn't worth paying for so I was able to just walk away. I was a bit short of cash then, so bought a ten year old Disco from a mate, which suited me just fine at the t...
