Re: Rear ended after only one month of ownership

In the new GDPR world your details should not be passed onto ambulance chasers without your consent. If they are, that's worth a word with the ICO.

Re: Rear ended after only one month of ownership

The same thing happened to me abut a month after I got mine. A police van with blues on appeared at a side road junction. I braked heavily as the speed he approached, I thought he was coming straight out. The woman behind me didn't and ran into the back of me. Trashed the rear bumper, smashed a ligh...

Re: Is it really that bad?

I’ve covered 23,500 miles since new in Sept 2017 Front tyres will need replacing in the next couple of months Really? I'm approaching 41,000 and my fronts (Pirelli Scorpion Verde as from new) still have plenty tread on them. Mainly motorway driving right enough, but still it's been a pleasant surpr...

Re: Can someone help a confused newbie...?

Been using Bluetooth with Spotify since I got the car and it works perfectly. I like the fact I can have my work's phone paired for calls and my personal phone (with Spotify) paired for music at the same time.

Re: Rusty brake discs & Calipers

To follow-up on this, rear brakes replaced today by a private garage. Brembo discs and pads and Pagid sensor, Total inc labour £324.60 compared to the £446.29 main dealer price first time round so £122 cheaper, plus I know and trust it's quality parts, not LR chocolate ones. Unfortunately, I'm unlik...

Re: Is it really that bad?

Another ongoing cost is the replacement of rear brake discs and pads every 10-20k miles. That's over £400 each time if using a main dealer. There is no consistency on how dealers handle this issue. Some will replace under warranty, some tell you it's by design or in my case the first set was done un...

Re: Rusty brake discs & Calipers

So, went to dealer today and as expected, wear and tear. No way I'm paying dealer prices for more chocolate brakes so popped to a private repair shop I used for many years of Impreza ownership. Well respected and trusted. He's saying go with Pagid over Brembo so going to get it booked in next week. ...

Re: Rusty brake discs & Calipers

Spotted this a few weeks ago on the JLR site, but forgot to post it. Has anyone gone down the Ombudsman route with regard to chocolate brakes? There is plenty evidence in this topic alone to support any case and show the inconsistency demonstrated by dealers & JLR when dealing with this issue. It wo...

Re: Rusty brake discs & Calipers

Just ordered Brembo Discs, pads and ABS (brand) pad wear sensor -£98.05 inc. delivery. Cheers Barnsh. 👍 Keep us posted on how this works out. I can tell from my previous invoice the total dealership would have charged (if it hadn't been refunded) for parts would have been £260.60 inc VAT so that's ...
