Re: Retrofitting Traffic Sign Recognition?

Can we stay on topic. We are only talking about “Retrofitting Traffic Sign Recognition(TSR)”. Your position is that Autologic can just solve the upgrade by changing configuration files. I have given a concrete (personally experienced) and indepth example where that absolutely is not possible for TSR...

Re: Retrofitting Traffic Sign Recognition?

Highlander, I know from personal experience that the following statement cannot ALWAYS be correct “Software upgrades have no effect what so ever on what you have upgraded or downgraded.” I did not make my original post based upon guessing or theory. It was 100% from actual experience. Plus I even we...

Re: Retrofitting Traffic Sign Recognition?

I should add:- A car controlled mostly by programmable software modules, usually needs regular software updates for years (like we have found with the DS). Of course if the Software & System Engineering were perfect then that would not be the case. Unfortunately car owners have to live with current ...

Re: Retrofitting Traffic Sign Recognition?

Highlander, I think you misunderstand. This thread was specifically about two related items:- 1) Retrofitting Traffic Sign Recognition (which of course requires software integration into the cars’ software) 2) Only about the Discovery Sport (whose operation is highly dependent & controlled by a few ...

Re: Retrofitting Traffic Sign Recognition?

The chances of getting TSR retrofitted is close to zero. Not zero, but close. I believe you need the authorisation of the LR Directors office, which will not be easily given except in rare cases. There can be major practical issues:- 1. I understand all DSs have a forward facing camera, but all forw...

Re: Navigation Map Update available

Two things about maps that annoy me:- 1) Several people that have never paid for a map update, get the latest map update free, but people like me who have already paid out £97 six months ago, are asked for another £97. 2) The latest map update is listed as a Q3 2016 map. I bought my map in Q2 2017 ...

Re: Service Action oil dilution, message not displayed

Miles to next service was introduced on 16.5MY. N118 does not alter this Sorry but I believe the first part is incorrect. Mine is a MY16.5 car and does not display miles to next service. I believe the feature was first introduce with MY17 cars (which started delivery during 2H 2016). Several others...

Re: Useing Sat Nav

Letton One, presumably you have already used settings to avoid unpaved roads. Though I note you use the term side roads, rather than unpaved roads.

Re: Sort out winter time.

Past Master, thank you for the profile hint.

Do you know if users have to change their timezone every time there is a UK clock change? I hope not one more ‘clock’ I have to update twice a year. Once I counted at least twenty. Who needs twenty darn clocks in any case! LOL!
