Good news for you, perhaps, Dashnine my MY19 DS has black under shields.
Fingers crossed! I guess yours as a 290 has the Dynamic body kit, so it may be part of that now.

Re: From Rome Italy

engine oil is diluted so needs more frequent oil changes. 240 bhp Diesel engine introduced MY18 (Autumn 2017 in UK), assume has same oil dilution issue as the 180. I think that's slightly misleading. The 2.2 engine requires an oil change every 12000 miles/12 months. Although the 2.0 engine is sold ...

Re: From Rome Italy

Welcome to the forum! DS engines since launch: At launch: 2.2 diesel - Well proven engine, slightly more power than later Ingenium 180. Only Euro5 compliant so may have emissions restrictions, city centre bans, etc. first. 2.0 diesel - New Ingenium engine with 180bhp, marginally quieter than 2.2. Eu...

Re: Re-use Puncture Repair Compressor

Can you find anything to back up that theory because it sounds like the kind of excuse a tyre retailer would use because they can't be arsed cleaning the tyre out and a new tyre is higher value than a repair? The place I use is a long established and highly respected family business and they had no...

Re: The death of diesel? Or the future?

either way he likes it, raved about the active cruise control Yeah, it's a damn sight cheaper on VW / Skoda cars than LR (£300.instead of £1000). Drove a Velar with it a few weeks ago and it's good, especially I should think if you do a lot of motorway miles. Didn't try the Stop / Go in traffic fun...

Re: Black paint job advice

The ‘real’ Blacks still had / have the silver airbag cover, I think only the Dynamics got the gloss black bag cover as standard (it’s circa £600 to buy as it comes complete with another airbag in the UK market to prevent people just replacing the cover without the airbag). The undershields were only...

Re: The death of diesel? Or the future?

Was in a VW dealership getting some parts for my wife’s Golf (she ran into a bike being pushed along and the pedal broke some grilles - it’s a long story). Anyway, had a look around the cars and was taken aback at the limited range of cars they were displaying. Of the dozen or so cars, there are ab...

Re: First Days of Ownership

Leaving the AC on permanently is considered best practice, even during the winter. Although there's an almost immeasurable hit on mpg, keeping the gas (and lubricant within it) circulating prevents corrosion and eventual failure of some expensive components (I've been there years ago!). AC still has...

Re: First Days of Ownership

So I’ve had the car for 10 days and slowly getting to know it. Overall very comfy, smooth and refined but I’m not too impressed with fuel economy (40 mpg driving like a nun) on quiet dual carriageway and the infotainment system. I can’t understand why I have to scroll through 3 pages of icons when ...
