Oh dear...specification change time.

Personally not liking the new range. There's a new base model with few engine options, then forced to R Dynamic or the new "Editions".

360 cameras are no longer standard.

20" wheels on everything except the base model.

Hmm back to square one on which car

But no front fogs or head light wash unless you pay extra
That was extra before well on the versions I was looking at.

Seems to be a gap in the range just above the base model.. But probably LRs continued move upmarket and the base model is there to give a low headline price.

Why 20" wheels on everything except the poverty spec? Yes you can downgrade to other wheels but you don't get any money back.

Production line streamlining.

Noticed there is no massage seat option now either. I put them on my order in April but wondered if they were pulled due to them being rubbish.

Anyone got any experience of them on theirs? Not too late for me to cancel them.

Shame to lose out on the 360 camera..I'd have added that back in.
Unfortunately it took me over the £40k mark and therefore would cost me an extra £350 a year. Didn't think I'd really use it much.

Just close the roof blind ;-)
Please tell me how closing the blind will prevent glass shatter, prevent strong sunlight from still getting through.
That was a joke! Hence the smilie.

But as you asked so nicely, most comprehensive car insurance policies cover the pan roof. Although no one I know has ever had a pan roof shatter. In 15 years of having cars with a pan roof, not one has shattered.
The blind is also designed to reduce the effects of strong sunlight. However, even without a pan roof, your car will still heat up as you have a massive amount of other glass e.g. the windscreen (unless you have the solar attenuated screen).

Pan roofs are also made from strengthened laminated glass (like the windshield).

I presume that with your concern of glass shattering and sunlight, you drive a commercial vehicle with no side or rear windows. Just in case they shatter?

I quite like the massage seats - although like most features I'll probably only use one setting - same as the electrically adjustable steering wheel.

I see matrix LEDs are standard, but the Clearsight rearview mirror is now an option. But you can get it in the Technology pack with the HUD and wireless charger for £1005 saving £430.

Looks like a new perforated steering wheel but £50 for the twin front cupholders with cover

As I mentioned in another thread, the car comes standard with 026SA "Twin front cupholders" and then there is the £50 option 026SB "Twin front cupholders with cover". So you can pay £50 for the pointless cover.

I suspect the clearsight rearview camera is optional because the 7 seats are now optional (although it does come standard with Urban Edition). You can also get it added with the Family Pack (7 seats etc.).

Matrix headlights are only standard on R-D HSE.

Too many glass roofs are shattering. Especially fixed ones. That large amount of glass seems prone to shock damage. A lot more than front, rear, side windows. I was under the impression Volvo were one of the few offering laminated glass in their roofs, and they have various issues. It has been hinted to me that it may be possible to special order a metal roof.

Not sure what you have been reading, but you have been misinformed.

" These panoramic roofs bonded to the car structure are invariably laminated glass and will therefore not shatter and break into tiny pieces."

Sunroofs have been around for over 60 years and have also not been prone to spontaneously shattering.

Hi Colin, I had on order a P200 R Dynamic Plus but my dealer has just cancelled the order. I wish I had of pushed for them to order the Urban. I've since put a deposit on the Urban Ed myself with another dealer as it looks to be a like for like.

There was someone on this here forum whose pano roof shattered. It can happen, it's just obviously extreamly rare

Yea the only real difference is the clear view mirror rather than the 360 camera. It also defaults to the oyster faux leather rather than black leather with red stitching.

I am looking forward to getting it, for me I wanted the Clear View Mirror and Pan Roof so it has worked out well for me. I dont think I would have used the 360 all of the time anyway. The only thing I added as an extra was the interactive display keeping the cost just under 40k..... It was tight. Has your dealer said when you might expect to take delivery of it?

Yea I added interactive display, memory seats and the USBs in the read, and kept that just under £40k.

My estimated delivery date is 16 Sept.

Apart from the specifications shuffles, do we know if there is anything different on the MY2022 over the MY2021 ...I.e. any body or chassis changes or any other visible updates?

#26 ·
Update: according to my local dealership there are NO changes to the model at all, no facelift updates or anything chassis related (as far as he was aware), the only changes are to the configurations and what is included/optional with each model and the new variant. As mine 'was' due on 15 June, I was after a delivery update, and he confirmed the system was all greyed out at the moment while they update the build details in the factory system (sound plausible) and he is going to re run my specification to see what/if any the implications are to my order in terms of price adjustments etc but he confirmed mine will switch to a MY22 build as it hasn't been through the production line yet and they will only do MY22's from now onwards.

Also, he mentioned that he has taken new orders last week and been given delivery dates of November........

Also, the residual value on my MY18 30k 'trade in' seems to have increased from c.£22k in March to £26k now (received quotes from WBAC and Motorway) and the dealer said he would revise my original trade in offer to see if he can now match the increase. He said there were almost zero used stock available and very high demand and the delays in orders are fuelling the increase in used residual values. Though that might be of interest to others who may be in the process of selling/buying.
